Rock’s possible WWE return against Roman Reigns, “I love the idea of a WrestleMania”

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, the wrestling great and Hollywood megastar, is in secret talks to return to the ring for Wrestlemania 2023. The Rock’s return would likely see him challenge current WWE Champion Roman Reigns for his title at Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles in April.

The Great One is rushing through the press tour for his upcoming film Black Adam, but he’s not holding back from answering questions about his speculated return to WWE. The Rock had a few words to say about the rumors that he’d be appearing at WrestleMania 39, as well as a not-so-subtle message for ‘The Tribal Chief’, Roman Reigns

The Rock hasn’t appeared on WWE TV in years, with his most notable appearance occurring in 2015, when he held a struggling babyface Reigns’ hand up as the Philadelphia audience booed Reigns at the finish of the Royal Rumble. As a result, The Rock hasn’t had much opportunity to tease the bout. He has, however, found various ways to hint at the eventual big event.

We are aware of the event which will eventually take place in The Rock’s backyard in Los Angeles as well know that no one on the WWE roster appears to be storyline ready to be a serious danger to Reigns at this time. Everything is set up for Rock to return and give his cousin (Roman Reigns) the ultimate stamp of approval for what will most likely be Rock’s final match.

Johnson stated, and threw some shade at Reigns during an interview, “Who is the Head of the Table? Without saying any names, you’re looking into his eyes right now.”

The legend was questioned whether this meant he would challenge Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 39 in April 2023.

He responded, “I am not confirming that at all. No. No, I am not [laughs] Though I’m gonna get a text from him after he watches this… I love the idea of a WrestleMania. And I’m close to a lot of people there but very close to one in particular, who we’ve talked about this. So I like it. There are just so many other variables that have to come into play. But I’m a fan, because I’m a promoter at heart, so I’m a fan of promoting an event and what could that be. I love WrestleMania, and I love that world.”

Dwayne Johnson has reportedly stated his desire to return to the WWE, but whether he will be able to do is yet to be seen.

Apart from this, since he’s one of the world’s most famous actors, he could face possible restrictions from Hollywood not engaging in any injury-prone activities like professional wrestling. However, Johnson’s ability to return to the WWE, regardless of whether he wants to, may be completely out of his hands.
