Sami Zayn injury update: Reviewing the current situation of the tag champ

Being the top babyfaces of the company, Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens are the current Tag Team Champions in WWE. After winning the titles at Wrestlemania 39, the duo has defended their titles in multiple events, and the duo was also involved in a major storyline against The Bloodline which eventually led to the collapse of the faction.

Things, however, have taken a twisted turn as both superstars are currently injured. Though one might be a part of the storyline the other one is reported as a real injury. This casts a fog of doubt over the in-ring future of the Tag Team Champions.

Sami Zayn suffers gnarly injury on WWE RAW

On this week’s WWE RAW, Sami Zayn was supposed to take part in the six-man tag team match against Judgement Day. Then things didn’t go as planned as he was attacked backstage and was declared medically unclear to participate in the match. The attacker was none other than the Irish wrestler JC McDonagh who is also a supporter of Finn Balor from Judgement Day.

Though the injury of Zayn was severe, still there is no need to worry. Thankfully, it all appears to be a part of the show. But that doesn’t indicate that he will wrestle in the main event match.

Sean Sapp provided a major update on Twitter during WWE RAW this week. It was reported that the injury spot was planned all day, so this was all part of the story. The post mentioned, “Regarding Sami Zayn — that spot was planned all throughout the day.”

It should be noted that Sami Zayn’s elbow was always able to do that, although it looked quite serious on television.

Zayn’s partner Kevin Owens already sidelined

Sami Zayn experienced an incredible boost in his career in just this one-year period. He is still a major babyface on the RAW roster, but this injury angle might let him take a small break. His tag team partner and good friend Kevin Owens is also out of action with a real injury, but Sami Zayn’s situation doesn’t seem that much serious.

In an episode of WWE RAW, Kevin Owens appeared at ringside during Sami Zayn’s title match against Dominik Mysterio. But he was sent backstage by the match official. The Judgment Day members Rhea Ripley and Damian Priest injured Owens backstage and rolled him to the entrance ramp. The latest backstage reports confirmed the injury of KO is real. After that, the superstar has been on a hiatus.

However, Sami Zayn is a great athlete, and he still has a lot to provide to the fans and to the industry. Hopefully, this injury won’t cost him much time away from the ring.
