Shavkat Rakhmonov responds to Bryan Barberena’s call out on short notice at UFC Fight Night 217

Shavkat Rakhmonov was fully prepared to face Geoff Neal on January 15th at UFC Fight Night 217. However, it appears that it will not happen as an unexpected injury has pushed Geoff Neal to withdraw himself from the fight.

Although many fans thought Shavkat would be unable to find another opponent in the dying minutes, someone has agreed to fight.

In the last three years, the Kazakh MMA fighter has won all four of his fights. That explains why he was so excited to face Geoff Neal in his next bout. He trained really hard to get himself ready for the fight.

Shavkat’s hope was crushed when the American fighter was injured. Lately, Bryan Barberena expressed his desire to fight Nomad in UFC 217 in one of his Twitter posts.

”Neal out. We were supposed to fight before on short notice. No one wants to fight you. Fuck it make it at 180 and I’ll see you there!” Bryan captioned on a post.

Bam recently lost a battle against former UFC champion Rafael dos Anjos, ending his three-bout winning streak. As a result, he must be looking forward to the possibility of regaining form by defeating Rakhmonov. While the Kazakh fighter aspires to prolong his unbeaten streak in the UFC.

Rakhmonov’s unbeaten streak includes victories over Neil Magny, Alex Oliveira, Michel Prazeres, and Carlston Harris. In a tweet, he responded to Bryan’s offer to fight and stated that he is willing to do so.

”Why not, let’s do it for the fans” Rakhmonov tweeted.

”Mad respect. lets Fucken go! let’s make this official send the contract and let’s get it done.” Barbenera twitted.

Fans are already interested to see what happens and who Shavkat Rakhmonov finally fights.
