The competition is getting fiercer as Rey Mysterio advances in the tournament, and Sheamus’ controversial comments have just fanned the flames. On the other hand, LA Knight has been quickly rising in popularity amongst the WWE fandom which likely didn’t sit well with the veteran.
Sheamus criticizes WWE fans for their passionate support of LA Knight
During the latest episode of WWE SmackDown, Sheamus took a strong stance against the overwhelming fan support for the charismatic WWE Superstar, LA Knight.
The Fatal Four Way match for the ‘United States Championship Invitational’ saw the crowd cheering for almost every move made by LA Knight, leaving Sheamus and the other competitors with a chorus of boos whenever they interacted with him. Despite LA Knight’s impressive performance, Rey Mysterio emerged victorious in the end by pinning Cameron Grimes.

In a visible display of frustration, Sheamus took to social media after the match, referring to the fans as “YEAH Bots” for their ‘one-sided’ backing of LA Knight.

In an exciting twist, the final of the United States Championship Invitational on “WWE SmackDown” will see two members of the Latino World Order, Rey Mysterio, and Santos Escobar, face off for a chance to challenge Austin Theory for the title.
During the fatal four-way match that kicked off the episode, the crowd was divided, with signs supporting Knight and Theory at ringside. All competitors displayed impressive skills, and the match went back and forth with several near-falls.

The turning point came when Mysterio executed a spectacular double 619 on Sheamus and Grimes, followed by a top-rope splash on Grimes. However, Theory’s interference caused a distraction, leading to a dramatic showdown between Escobar and Theory in the crowd. Meanwhile, Sheamus capitalized with a devastating Brogue Kick on Grimes, but Mysterio ultimately secured the victory by pinning LA Knight.
After the match, Escobar showed respect for Mysterio, raising his hand as a show of solidarity. Later in the evening, Escobar continued his impressive performance by defeating Austin Theory in a non-title match.
With the final set to feature a showdown between LWO allies, the stakes have been raised for the United States Championship, setting up a thrilling and emotional battle next Friday.
