The Spanish Centre Back made an appearance to support his favorite fighter Ilia Topuria who headlined the event.

Consequently, El Matador did not disappoint Ramos as he put on a terrific performance and claimed a big unanimous decision win over Josh Emmett. Following this win, Topuria met Sergio Ramos backstage and the latter congratulated the featherweight contender for his win. Is Topuria next in line for a title shot?

Ilia Topuria picked up his sixth consecutive win by defeating Josh Emmett via unanimous decision in the main event of UFC Jacksonville. The Georgian featherweight put on an impressive display of striking skills and offered no chance to his opponent throughout the five rounds. He almost finished the fight in the second round as he dropped Emmett with a beautiful three-piece combination.

It is needless to say that this was a big win for El Matador as Josh Emmett is #5 in the 145-pound division. Moreover, Emmett was supposed to be Ilia’s toughest test. But the Georgian featherweight passed the challenge very easily and in an extremely dominant fashion. With that being said, Ilia Topuria might actually be the one who is the biggest danger to Alexander Volkanovski in the featherweight division.

With this win at UFC Jacksonville, Topuria could be next in line for the title shot. For now, Volk will defend his belt against Yair Rodriguez. But apart from Max Holloway, there isn’t any featherweight who is in contention to challenge the champion. So if Volkanovski decides to not move up to lightweight after defending the title, then El Matador might receive a title shot next.
