“That was dirty”: Ryan Garcia brutally denounced Rolly Romero’s victory over Ismael Barroso to win WBA super lightweight belt

Rolly Romero repeatedly called out Ryan Garcia for his upcoming fight throughout the pre-fight and post-fight news conferences. Ryan, though, isn’t really pleased with how Rolly obtained his long-awaited triumph yesterday night.

Romero defeated Ismael Barroso to win the title of the WBA Super Lightweight Championship. To everyone’s surprise, the fight was stopped in the ninth round and Rolly was proclaimed the victor even though Barroso had been clearly outclassing Rolly during the first eight rounds of the contest.

What did Ryan Garcia say regarding Rolly Romero’s victory against Ismael Barroso?

Rolly has high hopes that the next big fight boxing fans want to see is the fight between him and Ryan. Given that Ryan lost to Gervonta Davis this year, KingRy’s circumstances aren’t good. Romero believes that Garcia should fight him next in the ring.

Understandably, Ryan is still processing Tank’s defeat, but Rolly is hopeful that Ryan will accept the offer given that he is now the new lightweight champion.

“All I know is that fight is the biggest fight in boxing, me and Ryan. The winner between me and Ryan gets Gervonta Davis. We’re going to do it the old school way.” Rolly said.

Ryan, though, isn’t immediately eager to face Rolando after the way Rolly won the belt. The former interim lightweight champion expressed his opinions about the Romero-Ismael fight on Twitter.

The California fighter felt that the fight stopped too soon. However, Ryan is not alone in feeling that way; many fans of boxing also voiced their displeasure at the fight’s abrupt conclusion.

During the post-fight interview, Romero also expressed that both he and the Venezuelan boxer could’ve continued the fight. The 40-year-old boxer also said that he wasn’t done yet when the referee declared the stoppage.

What is the likelihood that Ryan Garcia and Rolando Romero will fight after this much controversy? Comment below and let us know what you think.
