“There’s still some s**t referees out there” Jorge Masvidal gets brutally honest on UFC judging

Jorge Masvidal has trashed the alleged mistakes made by referees during fights, and has asked for more accountability for referees.

There have been several controversial decisions form UFC judges in recent years. Mass calls for improvements have been raised.  UFC Welterweight contender Jorge Masvidal acknowledges that the judging has improved, but thinks that there is much room for improvement in the refereeing department.

“To a certain standard we have the best judges because the guys have had so much time and experience. I strongly agree that there should be accountability because as much as the judging overall has improved, there are still some sh*t referees out there.”

“There is still some 30-27, 30-27, and then the other guy goes 30-27. and no reason happens of it. You are destroying careers, man. One fight could lead to a guy to fighting a world championship, or right back to the gauntlet where he has to work his way back up. I don’t think it’s fair to let these guys go without any accountability. There should be a commission. I know there is a commission, but there should be a commission that asks these guys to validate their actions.”

Masvidal is yet to fight since his loss to Colby Covington at UFC 272. A lot of people have been touted as his next opponent, but he seems to have his eyes set on a fight against Conor McGregor. McGregor, too, has been out of action for a while. He is currently recovering from an injury suffered against Dustin Poirier.
