Thiago, Mane and Matip resume training as Liverpool begin preparations for Merseyside derby

Liverpool will return to action following the international break with a huge fixture lying ahead as they gear up to face local rivals Everton for the first Merseyside derby of the 2020/2021 campaign.

It appears to be going in the right direction for the Reds as they recently welcomed some of their key players who went missing in action recently.

According to the club’s official website, summer signing Thiago Alcantara and Sadio Mane, who were both sidelined after testing positive to the coronavirus a few days ago, returned to training following their conquest in the battle against the virus.

Joel Matip, who has also been on the treatment table for weeks also linked up with the group and participated in the training as he continues his recovery. The trio were joined by James Milner and Mohamed Salah.

Liverpool will take on Everton for the first Merseyside derby of the season on Saturday. Jurgen Klopp’s men will travel to the Goodison Park with the aim to snatch all the three points and improve their position on the table.

They currently rank 5th in the standings after four games.
