UFC Fight Night: Volkov vs Aspinall – Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Returns

Finally, the UFC will make its long-awaited return to the United Kingdom. UFC Fight Night: Volkov vs Aspinall will take place on Sunday, March 20 at the O2 Arena in London, U.K. The card marks the UFC’s first return to England since 2019.

As such, fans are very excited to witness some top fighters on foreign soil. Unsurprisingly, the fight card is full of English talent, making for what could potentially be one of the most action-packed cards of the year.

When the event starts, there are bound to be hotspots for bettors. However, you too can indulge in these games while sitting at home and bet at sports betting sites in Tennessee. These betting sites are widespread, well-renowned, and very popular among beginners. Above all, these sites embrace players of all budgets, making it comfortable and safe to play for real money. Let’s take a look at what we have in store on the occasion.

For the main event, we have a Heavyweight matchup. Alexander Volkov (34-9-0) makes his return to the Octagon, after beating Tybura back at UFC 267. Facing him, we have the up-and-coming British sensation, Tom Aspinall. Both the fighters are very easy to root for and both hold high rankings #6 and #11 respectively. This is going to be a banger main event.

Up next, we have another banger fight, this time in the Lightweight division. Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett returns to his homeland to take on Kazula Vargas. Whilst Paddy was very dominant in his last outing, we can’t help but think that this time will be a lot more balanced. Watch out for this one!

Also on the card are Arnold Allen vs Dan Hooker, Shamil Abdurakhimov vs Sergei Pavlovich, and Nikita Krylov vs Paul Craig and Gunnar Nelson vs Claudio Silva. That sums up your main card for the night.

As always, we will be providing you and updating you with the fight results as they happen. Hence, you can check out all results (including the preliminary card) on the day of the event.

Amongst the many familiar faces returning will be the one and only, Paddy Pimblett. After making waves with his first-round KO of Luigi Vendramini, ‘Baddy’ is back to emulate that performance and possibly do one better. To make matters interesting, Paddy will be taking on another fellow prospect in Kazula Vargas.

Talking to the UFC Unfiltered Podcast, Paddy is predicting yet another first round stoppage. He adds, “I can’t see him lasting any more than five minutes with me to be honest. Even though he’s got a good heart, he’s got a good chin, he’s resolute, but I showcased my striking in the last fight. I might have to showcase my grappling in this one. I’m going with a first-round submission or a first-round TKO off the ground and pound.”

Formerly a Cage Warriors contender, the 27 year old British fighter has found himself to be one of the most talked about personalities in the sport. Be it the blonde bowl cut, the unmatched charisma, the Scouse accent or the ability to throw hands, Paddy’s got it all. Moreover, Pimblett finds himself in the next ‘cash-cow’ of the UFC conversation as well.

Previously, there were rumours that Paddy will be facing Jared Gordon instead of Kazula Vargas. According to Pimblett, he did not get the Gordon fight, and is glad for it. The Englishman feels that he needs a better contract before taking on a fighter like Gordon.

Paddy explains, “I would have happily fought Jared Gordon, but at the same time, I looked at it, and he’s had nine UFC fights,” Pimblett said. “How much money do you think he’s getting? He’s getting a lot more than me, lad. So thinking about it that way, I’m glad I never ended up fighting Jared Gordon because I want a better and bigger contract before I fight people like that.”

With potential to be one of the biggest names in the sport, let’s see how Paddy gets on come UFC London.
