UFC icon Conor McGregor hints at WWE career, exchanges heated words with Paul Heyman: “I’ll show up and break your jaw”

In a startling development, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) have announced that they will merge to create a $21.4bn sports entertainment organization. This alliance is exciting as well as confusing for both the fan bases. Conor McGregor also reacted to the shocking collaboration, terming the UFC as a ‘Powerhouse’

The  World Wrestling Entertainment is being by the McMahon family for decades while Dana White has been the head honcho of the UFC since the start. There being any changes in their respective roles following this alliance will be interesting to see.

“Together, we will be a $21+ billion live sports and entertainment powerhouse with a collective fanbase of more than a billion people and an exciting growth opportunity,” McMahon said in a prepared statement on Monday.

Endeavor CEO Ari Emanuel in a statement said, “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to bring together two leading pureplay sports and entertainment companies that operate in the most attractive parts of the media ecosystem,”

Conor McGregor involved in a heated exchange with Paul Heyman

“The Notorious” Conor McGregor is by far the biggest superstar in the history of UFC. Since joining the promotion in 2013, McGregor has played a huge role in the rise of the UFC. The overall revenue, PPV sales, and the overall popularity of MMA have significantly increased since the Irishman entered the fighting game. Now, with the UFC-WWE alliance who knows what the 34-year-old has to offer?

McGregor and veteran professional wrestling manager Paul Heyman were recently involved in a mini-war of words on Twitter. McGregor at first posted an edited photo of him holding the UFC and WWE world titles, Heyman took advantage of the opportunity and decided to troll the former two-division champion with a tweet of his own that read, “Conor McGregor is a Roman Reigns wannabe!!!!”. McGregor, as expected, didn’t hold back in his response as well replying “Careful Grampa. I’ll show up and break your jaw in 3 places”.
