“The Chair God wrote his name on” Charles Oliveira still claims himself to be champ after stripped from UFC LW title

Stripped lightweight champion Charles ‘Do Bronx” Oliveira still thinks he is the champ and nothing has changed. He has claimed in a sensational Instagram post that the lightweight championship is a “Chair that God wrote his name on”.

The UFC 274 event will go on even though the champion missed weight. If Gaethje wins, he is the only one who is qualified for the strap.

After failing to make weight, Charles Oliveira will lose his belt. This is the first time a champion has failed to make weight in UFC history! Oliveira was still 0.5 pounds heavier than he should have been, and as a result, he was revoked of his lightweight crown.

The lightweight title is now vacant, and Oliveira cannot win it, but if he defeats Gaethje, he can become the number one contender.  After his fairytale journey to champion status, this is an unpleasant turn of events for Oliveira!

Oliveira first signed with the UFC in 2010, after going 12-0 in various organizations around the entire globe. He went winless in his next three battles as a lightweight after winning his first two fights in the UFC.
Oliveira has won ten consecutive fights and was crowned champion after defeating Michael Chandler in the main event of UFC 262.

At UFC 269, he successfully defended his title against Dustin Poirier, establishing himself as a true champion.
After defeating Michael Chandler, Justin Gaethje fought his way to the title. Justin lost his first title challenge after losing to the legendary Khabib Nurmagomedov!

It remains to be seen if Charles Oliveira does fight through the odds to become a champion once again, or he fails to beat “the highlight” and his great story ends at UFC 274?
