Conor McGregor has a reputation for persevering through injuries in order to step into the octagon on fight night and it is widely recognized.
One of his most remarkable displays of determination came during UFC 189, where he triumphed over Chad Mendes to claim the interim featherweight title, all while grappling with a torn ACL in his knee.
The recent release of McGregor’s documentary, ‘McGregor Forever’, has unveiled previously unseen footage that sheds light on another instance of his resilience. In the lead-up to his highly anticipated mega-fight against Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229, ‘The Notorious’ encountered a dislocated toe.

The anguish etched on McGregor’s face was undeniable, as the prospect of his bout against Nurmagomedov seemed to slip away with each passing moment.
Yet, in a crucial moment, a composed member of his team managed to restore the toe to its rightful position, providing a profound sense of relief to the Irishman.
On May 17, Netflix premiered a compelling four-part documentary series showcasing the extraordinary journey and remarkable resurgence of Conor, one of the most iconic figures in combat sports.
The series delves into his illustrious career and the inspiring tale of his triumphant return from a debilitating injury.
During his encounter with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in 2021, ‘The Notorious’ endured a brutal leg injury that has kept him out of the octagon since then.
However, despite his hiatus, McGregor’s presence in the MMA world remains significant. Recently, he was unveiled as a coach for the highly anticipated 31st season of ‘The Ultimate Fighter.’
Sharing the coaching spotlight with the talented Michael Chandler, McGregor is poised to reenter the spotlight and ignite a fierce clash within the confines of the octagon later this year.
Michael Bisping gives his thoughts on Conor McGregor
Joining the fray of speculation regarding the Conor vs. Michael showdown, Michael Bisping recently expressed his thoughts on the matter. Fondly referred to as ‘The Count,’
Bisping shared his belief that the highly anticipated clash between the two fighters is likely to occur within this year, and he even has a specific location in mind.
Since suffering a leg injury during his encounter with Dustin Poirier in July 2021, Conor has been absent from the USADA drug-testing pool. In order to regain eligibility to compete, the Irishman must undergo a re-entry period of at least six months.
Taking these factors into account, Michael Bisping envisions that the epic showdown between McGregor and Chandler will unfold in the vibrant city of Las Vegas.
The former UFC middleweight champion recently took to his YouTube channel, where he shared his thoughts on the matter in a compelling video.
“In terms of a timeline, we’re in May, so six months [from now] and he can fight at the end of the year… so the final card of the year at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. They’ve still got seven months for that, so McGregor’s just got to get in the testing pool.”
