US Senator backs Novak Djokovic for entry in US Open 2022 without vaccination

Modern day tennis is blessed with a living legend, Novak Djokovic, 35, who is still showing that age is not a barrier to succeeding on the biggest stage of professional court-play by winning the recent Wimbledon tournament for a record seven times.

Despite losing out on the opportunity to play at this year’s Australian Open in Melbourne due to vaccination restrictions, the Serbian superstar was recently backed by a veteran US Senator who showed his support for the motives of the tennis player.

Why an US Senator openly supported Novak Djokovic ahead of US Open tournament?

Covid-19 vaccination rules have completely changed the present world, with more and more countries now favoring vaccinated travelers and giving fewer opportunities to those who refuse to get proper vaccinations.

The recent trends can also be seen in the sporting world too, as top sporting destinations around the world are restricting the access of unvaccinated foreign players from entering their countries to participate in major events.

Among the ‘Big Three’ of tennis, Novak Djokovic is the only one who is yet to take any kind of coronavirus vaccines into his body and regularly criticizing those who are making fun of him over remaining unvaccinated as of today.

However, Djokovic has his own philosophy behind this refusal, and like many people around the world, the Serbian openly expressed that this vaccination might harm him in the long run.

Upon getting denied entry to the Australian Open earlier this year, the Serbian got the chance to get early access to the recently finished Wimbledon, where he eventually became the champion.

However, fears are rising over his participation in the upcoming US Open as the US laws clearly restrict the unvaccinated foreigners from entering to the country.

On the other hand, an experienced US Senator, Mr. Rand Paul, supported the status of the Serbian star by saying, “Hooray for heroic stances for medical freedom by Wimbledon champ Novak Djokovic. Boo for unscientific policy of banning visitors to US that already have natural immunity.”

From the above contradiction, fans of Djokovic can again become hopeful of seeing their beloved player on the courts of US Open in coming days.
