Lewis Hamilton was increasingly confident in his car as the Singapore GP approached. The British driver was optimistic regarding the high downforce setup of his Mercedes W16 considering the fact that Marina Bay is a street circuit.
While, the Silver Arrows have been showing consistent success this season race by race, Singapore GP was by far their best race of the season, as both of their cars were in a heated battle with other teams to get the win from the race.
Lewis Hamilton’s Extreme E team bags Sardinia success
Lewis is certainly going to have double celebrations following the win of his team, X44. The 7 time world champion’s team- X44 has managed to win Island X Prix Round-8 in Sardinia.
The team posted their win, quite happy about it, on their Instagram handle and were extremely elated to announce it, They further explained that they worked tirelessly to get the car in top shape for the race and the ultimate win.
The team’s drivers, Fraser McConell and Cristina Gutiérrez did an incredible job managing to pull off this win and Lewis was more than excited to share it on his story congratulating them for this achievement.
Hamilton’s first podium finish since British GP
Lewis’ last podium finish came from the 2023 British GP in Silverstone where he managed to earn a third place following a well fought battle during the race. He has been hungry for a win for 2 seasons consecutively and the performance of Mercedes’ cars eventually caught up to the other competitors.
This Singapore GP the car looked extremely competitive in the hands of the drivers and even though they couldn’t clinch a win, Lewis managed to find himself on the podium following a crash by George Russell. Lewis was extremely confident in his car pre-race and he believed that they would be able to achieve something great this weekend.
Lewis Hamilton further complemented George and supported him after a well fought battle and crash in the last lap. Lewis Hamilton currently stands 3rd in the championship with 180 points and he has managed to grab a pole position in one qualifying session too. He is contending against Fernando Alonso and Sergio Perez who stand and 4th and 2md respectively with 170 and 223 points.
Every race he consistently improves giving valuable feedback for the development of car and also being able to make the team rise up to second in the constructors’ championship. The team currently stands at 289 points only behind a massive point difference from Red Bull.
