Today, Queen Camilla made a graceful and refined entrance at the Wimbledon competition in 2023. It was her first time visiting this renowned Grand Slam competition as the wife of King Charles III. She was in the royal box with her sister Annabel Elliot and Prince Albert II of Monaco.
Camilla displayed her tennis-chic wardrobe by donning a gorgeous long-sleeved white dress with navy striped sleeves and accessorizing with pearl earrings and layers of gold jewelry. The players were certainly aware of her presence, but they chose not to extend the typical bow or curtsy to the royal family members sitting in the box.
The Duke of Kent, who was the All England club’s president in 2003, instituted a regulation that is to blame for the lack of customary pleasantries. Players are no longer obligated to bow or curtsy to royals entering or leaving the Centre Court unless they are the sovereign or their successors, such as Queen Elizabeth II or Prince Charles. The players did not extend the formal display of respect because Queen Camilla, her sister, and Prince Albert do not occupy these posts.

Kate Middleton graced the Wimbledon days prior
The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, stunned everyone on the second day of the championship with her choice of attire. She is known for her chic midi dresses and pantsuits, but she proved her versatility by wearing a Balmain jacket. The white lapels, rounded white buttons, and broad shoulder pads on the mint green jacket gave it a classic appeal.
