Pele, widely regarded as the greatest footballer of all time, died Friday night at the age of 82. Famous athletes from many sports have paid their respects to the late great. On social media, mixed martial artists have also paid tribute to the Brazilian icon who passed away.
For a long time, the three-time world cup winner has been suffering from respiratory infections and colon cancer. He has been in the hospital since November of last year. Last week, his situation deteriorated. Pelé’s daughter, Kely Nascimento, confirmed his father’s death on Instagram today.
