MMA star Alex Pereira embraces training partnership with Sean Strickland looking to improve language skills ahead of UFC Vegas 76

The realm of mixed martial arts is filled with so many wonderful features. Another illustration of that MMA beauty is Alex Pereira, a former octagon opponent of Sean Strickland, is now eager to learn English from his foe while training.

At the UFC Apex facility in Enterprise, Nevada, a part of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Area, on July 2, 2023, Strickland is scheduled to face Abus Magomedov in the main event of UFC Vegas 76.

The 32-year-old fighter is coming to Connecticut in preparation of his upcoming bout. Pereira, who is about to begin a new octagon adventure in the light heavyweight division also joined ‘Tarzan’ in the training session.

Alex Pereira’s plan to take help from Sean Strickland

In a recent interview with Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour, Poatan expressed what he wants to achieve from the training session. The former middleweight champion confirmed Sean’s arrival by saying, “Sean Strickland’s coming to Connecticut next week for one week to train with me for his next fight.”

Due to their shared rivalry Ariel found it quite surprising. A year ago in UFC 276, Tarzan fought Poatan in a middleweight clash. As Pereira defeated the American fighter it is easy to wonder whether they still have any animosity.

As the Brazilian fighter isn’t proficient in English, he came to the session with his translator. According to them, Alex is planning to learn a bit of English as well from his American sparring partner.

“He’s a bit crazy. But, he’s a nice guy you know what I mean? He talked about a lot of these guys, but he’s always treated Alex very respectfully. So, he’s very welcome in our home.” Pereira’s translator said.

Next Alex Pereira bout and opponent

Pereira will make his light heavyweight debut at UFC 291, which will feature Poirier vs. Gaethje 2 as the headliner on July 29, 2023, at the Vivint Arena in Salt Lake City, Utah. Against Jan Bachowicz, Pereira will begin the new chapter of MMA career.

On April 8, Pereira last stepped into the octagon in the Miami-Dade Arena in Miami, Florida. Poatan’s short-lived reign as a middleweight champion came to an end by his old foe Israel Adesanya. Alex decided to step up to the 205-lb after suffering the terrible knockout loss to The Last Stylebender on UFC 287.
