Patrick entered the NFL after the Chiefs selected him in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft, and he has remained one of their greatest all-time players on the teams’ roster to this day with a win-loss record of 64-16.

However, this time around Mahomes was seen showing off his athletic skills outside of football on the baseball pitch.

Patrick Mahomes shows off his baseball background

Patrick is well known in the NFL community, but has his name ever been associated with the MLB community? You might not be aware that Pats has a strong affinity for baseball as his father, Patrick Mahomes Sr., played in the Major League Baseball for a total of 11 seasons and Mahomes himself was a draft prospect in 2014.

“I’m a baseball player at heart,” the quarterback said showing affection for baseball. “That’s just who I am. I’m playing shortstop back there.”

Due to his ownership of the Kansas City Royals, he took the spotlight at the Royals’ Friday celebrity softball game and displayed his hidden baseball ability. As the quarterback used a behind-the-back throw to get Eric Stonestreet out at the beginning and later used a tag to stop a runner attempting to score, he attracted the attention of his supporters.

In the latest tweet from MLB, Patrick can be observed hitting a massive homerun as walks comfortably to make his way on Homebase. The MLB Twitter handle tweeted their video praising Mahomes saying, “That Mahomes guy is good. Does he play any other sports?”

Mahomes had a huge 2022 season, leading the Chiefs to win Super Bowl

The Kanas City Chiefs were in the thrust of a championship title that they last won in 1970 before adding the 27-year-old to their roster. However, the luck of the Chiefs has changed with having the quarterback on their squad as the star player got a name for himself as being the youngest quarterback ever to be named Super Bowl MVP when the Kansas City Chiefs won Super Bowl LIV.

Mahomes has emerged as the fastest quarterback to break pretty much every record after having equaled two other great quarterbacks, Dan Marino and Peyton Manning, in having 4000+ passing yards in three of their first four NFL seasons as well as tying Kurt Warner in having 17 games with 300+ passing yards or more in his first three NFL seasons.

The Chiefs star gave the team more of his God-given physical endurance and athleticism in 2022, finishing with a passer rating of 105.2, 5,250 yards, 41 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions in 17 games.

The seasoned quarterback was the only player in NFL history to win two Super Bowls and two MVP awards in his first six seasons, and he did so in the most recent season after helping his team win the team’s third Super Bowl.

With great success in the NFL, the young star appears to be enjoying himself on the baseball field as after hitting a home run, he is expecting to hit another one.
