Antony domestic violence case: ex-wife Gabriela Cavallini left high and dry by her lawyer

Manchester United’s winger Antony has been the centre of headlines for quite some time now. The player was first accused of domestic violence and abuse by his girlfriend, Gabriela Cavallin, who claimed that the footballer had laid hands on her. The accusations agitated the public, causing Manchester United and the Brazilian national team to suspend their star winger temporarily.

The case was filed in June 2023, and since then fans have not heard a verdict from the court. The Brazilian international claims to be innocent and is hopeful that the court will bring his innocence before the world. There has been an update in Antony’s case, and it seems like Gabreila and her lawyer were not seeing eye to eye.

Lawyer leaves Cavallin in Antony domestic violence case

Gabriela Cavallin and her lawyer, Vanessa Souza, have decided to part ways. The Brazilian influencer has let go of her lawyer, Vanessa, due to the latter having a lot on her plate. In an interview, she said that she would like to have someone who lives in the country: “She has many commitments in London and other countries, as she is a renowned professional. So, we chose to position ourselves with someone who lives in the country.”

Vanessa Souza has not revealed her side of the story yet. She only said that she had to leave the case due to some personal reasons but did not provide any other details related to the topic. “For personal reasons, I left the case, but I prefer not to comment on details,” she said. The case is still going on, and Gabriela will now need to look for another lawyer as good as Vanessa to represent her in court.

Antony left out of Brazil’s setup despite Manchester United return

Things were not going in Antony’s favour since two other women, namely Ingrid Lana and Rayssa de Freitas, also accused the Brazilian international of abuse and assault. The former claimed Antony hit her after she refused to get intimate with him, while the latter said she got assaulted in the winger’s Rolls Royce. Rayssa de Freitas has since retracted her complaint, but Ingrid Lana is still clinging to hers.

In contrast to Mason Greenwood, who had to leave the Premier League due to accusations of domestic violence, Antony has been welcomed back by his club. He made an appearance for the Red Devils on October 4 in a UEFA Champions League group-stage match against Galatasaray. The 23-year-old was also on the field on October 7 in a Premier League match against Brentford.

Unfortunately, Antony is still suspended from Brazil’s national football team. Brazil is scheduled to face Uruguay on October 18 in a World Cup qualification match, and the Manchester United winger will likely miss it. The court has yet to provide a final verdict on the case. Fans will need to wait until the case is resolved, but until then, they can watch their favorite winger play for his club.
