Blessed vs Allen: UFC legend claims Arnold Allen deserves title shot “if he can do it” against Max Holloway

On April 16th, fans of the UFC featherweight division will be treated to a showdown between two top fighters in the weight class as former champ Max Holloway faces off against the fourth-ranked Arnold Allen at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City.

The highly anticipated bout, which serves as the main event of an exciting card, could potentially determine the next challenger for the featherweight title currently held by Alexander Volkanovski.

Although interim champion Yair Rodriguez is expected to have the first crack at the title, the winner of the Holloway vs. Allen fight is likely to be next in line. During a recent BT Sport show, a former UFC champion also offered his candid opinion on the upcoming fight.

During a recent appearance on BT Sport’s YouTube channel, former middleweight champion Michael Bisping provided his analysis of the upcoming fight card.

The 44-year-old expressed his support for fellow Englishman Arnold Allen. And suggested that if he manages to defeat ‘Blessed’ (Max Holloway), he should be granted a title shot.

Although Bisping expressed his backing for Allen. He also acknowledged the significant obstacle that the Englishman faces in the form of Max.

The former middleweight champion referenced Holloway’s defeats to Volkanovski. He suggested that the Hawaiian fighter has a “chip on his shoulder” as he enters this pivotal match.

“You’re fighting a world championship quality fighter and a guy that has a chip on his shoulder. To prove to the world that I’m still one of the best. And that’s who he’s got to fight just to get the title fight.” Bisping pointed.

According to the former fighter-turned-analyst, if Allen emerges victorious in the upcoming fight. He should rightfully earn a title shot from the UFC.

“So if he can do it, if he does pull it off. Then my word Arnold Allen without question is the next in line,” Bisping stated.
