Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic wears signed Patrick Mahomes jersey after Eagles loss vs Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII

The USMNT player Christian Pulisic might be one of the latest Kansas City Chiefs fans, but surely that wasn’t a volunteer submission.

The Chelsea star has been supporting the New York Jets since his childhood; however, the Jets got eliminated before securing a place in the postseason playoffs. Perhaps this is why the Pennsylvanian backed the Philadelphia Eagles.

But the luck didn’t support him this time either, as the Eagles lost the title to the Chiefs on Sunday, and Pulisic had to wear Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes‘ signed jersey.

Why did Christian Pulisic have to wear a Patrick Mahomes jersey?

The following day of Super Bowl LVII, Christian was seen signing autographs for the young Chelsea fans’ merchandise while wearing the Chiefs jersey instead of the training kit. His teammate, British wingback Reece James, revealed the rare photo.

Reece took a bet on the Super Bowl’s result on the condition that the 24-year-old had to wear the signed Patrick’s Day jersey in public if the Chiefs came out as champions. Later in the morning, Reece posted the image on his Instagram story with a caption: “Great start to my Monday.”

Chelsea’s #10 reposted it on his Instagram story, mentioned the Chiefs’ QB, and added a goat emoji. Clearly, Mahomes has a fan now on the soccer team.

The winger is currently going through a difficult period after getting knocked out of the World Cup in the Round of 16 and being injured almost the whole season in the Premier League. The Blues have had one of their worst seasons in a decade as a result of his absence.

On the other hand, the quarterback’s star has been named the MVP after leading his franchise to the Super Bowl title for the second time in four years. Mahomes is regarded as the future goat after putting in a consistent performance despite an injury.
