Colin Cowherd claims LeBron James allegedly ‘not happy’ over Anthony Davis’ inability to stay healthy, effectively contribute to Lakers

This week, Fox Sports host Cowherd made a bold claim about the relationship between the Los Angeles Lakers’ superstars, LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Cowherd said that LeBron is unhappy with Davis and even linked Davis to a potential exit from the Lakers down the road, suggesting that he could end up joining the Dallas Mavericks.

According to Cowherd, he had spoken to an NBA source who informed him that AD was “pouting” because LeBron was holding him accountable. He also stated that LeBron and his camp are upset with the heavy minutes James has been playing due to his ankle injury. Cowherd claimed that LeBron and his camp are frustrated with Davis’ unreliability, and they are disappointed with Coach Darvin Ham for not holding Davis accountable.

The Lakers are currently sitting in 13th place, and the 38-year-old James has played in 45 games, averaging 36.3 minutes per game. On the other hand, Davis has made just 35 appearances, averaging 33.4 minutes per game due to a legitimate stress injury in his foot that caused him to miss most of this season. The relationship between the two also recently came under scrutiny after a viral video of Davis during a game last week.

It’s worth noting that Cowherd is known for making outlandish claims. Therefore, his comments on the Lakers here should be taken with a grain of salt. However, the Lakers recently secured a significant victory against the New Orleans Pelicans with their new-look roster, so a winning streak could be the cure for any problems they might have.

As they head towards the end of the regular season, it remains to be seen whether the Lakers can overcome their recent struggles and make a deep playoff run. With both James and Davis under contract for the foreseeable future, they will need to work out their differences if they hope to make a return to the NBA Finals. Otherwise, the rumors of Davis potentially joining the Mavericks could come to fruition.

Cowherd’s comments about the strained relationship between James and Davis and Davis’ potential exit from the Lakers should be taken with a grain of salt. The Lakers have a new-look roster and just secured a big win, which could be the turning point they need to overcome their recent struggles.
