“Come on Asian Ching chong”: Georgia Dl Jamal Jarrett gets heavy backlash after racist comment on NFL Draft 2023 livestream

Racism is not a healthy practice in any field though many a time the players faced this issue. Recently a Georgia Bulldogs player, named Jamaal Carrett, has been seen throwing a racist comment during a live stream of the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft and soon after the news went viral, the football community outburst in anger.

Four-Star DL Jamaal Jarrett commits to Georgia

Jamaal is a freshman in the University of Georgia and the third-best player in the state of North Carolina. Former Grimsley 4-star lead his team to reach the NCHSAA 4A state finals registering 63 tackles, 18 for a loss, one sack, three hurries, two forced fumbles and an interception during a senior season.

What did the Georgia player remark during a live stream in NFL Draft 2023 ?

A thrilling week the NFL world witnessed regarding the the NFL draft. However, a freshman Bulldog player came into spotlight in the midst of the exciting program for making a racist comment at the time of the announcement of Atlanta Falcons’ first-round pick towards an Asian man who took the name of Texas running back Bijan Robinson as the draft pick.

Carrett possibly expected Jalen Carter to be the draft pick and immediately after the announcement, the rising star provided an usual remark saying “Jalen Carter, come on Asian. Ching chong.”

The internet community did not take this remark well, instead, the Bulldog star collected much backlashes from them for his irrelevant and disgusting comment. A twitter user regarded his remark as “manners maketh man.” Sincerely, it is horrible and can not be expected from a player in such a big stage. 

In addition to the fans, Asian Crime Report also expressed their dissatisfaction with the players’ comment posting in twitter.

“A Georgia Bulldogs football player made anti Asian comments on his Instagram Live when he saw an Asian man announcing a pick in the NFL Draft. His name is Jamaal Jarrett. This is unacceptable and disgusting.”
