Days after claiming to be “One Bill Phil”, CM Punk led AEW Collision viewership sinks further

All Elite Wrestling promotion recently debuted with their new show called AEW Collision. The debuted episode of the show featured the return of Cm Punk back in the company. However, the debuted show also featured a major boost in the viewership of the company.

Not only he returned, but Punk also competed in the main event of the show. During the main event, Punk also had a showdown against Samoa Joe which created a huge buzz among the AEW Universe.

As Cm Punk is back on AEW television many believed that the ratings will rise for the show but it seems like the presence of Punk has failed to generate a good viewership for the show. The opening segment of the show features the AEW World Champion MJF. He made short work of Kip Sabian, followed by a victorious match against Ethan Page. A hard-hitting bout was also seen between Dustin Rhodes and Powerhouse Hobbs.

Jay White and CM Punk were also engaged in a war of words. Despite having all these segments the ratings of the show suffered a sharp decline in terms of viewership. A tweet from Wrestling Blog also draws a comparison between WWE & AEW shows ratings.

Punk claimed to be the biggest draw in AEW TV weeks back

The All Elite Wrestling promotion has claimed multiple times that Cm Punk is one of the biggest draws in their company. The returning show of AEW Collision also tasted great viewership with the return of Punk but it seems like both Punk & AEW failed to maintain that hype.

The Best in the World also claimed in his promos that he is one of the biggest draws in this professional wrestling but now the number appears to be contrary to his statement. Tony Khan also believed that Punk is a rating draw superstar who also helps the company on multiple occasions in their ticket sales. The decline in the viewership of AEW shows that the hype of Punk is only for a temporary period of time.
