Deontay Wilder vs Andy Ruiz: The Destroyer sends chilling message amid contract negotiations on potential boxing bout

Deontay Wilder and Andy Ruiz are currently in contract talks for a major heavyweight showdown. Before the eagerly anticipated fight, Ruiz recently delivered a stern warning to his potential next ring opponent.

Wilder will square off against Anthony Joshua in December which is pretty much confirmed. Andy Ruiz is also being considered as Deontay’s opponent, according to the trainer of Wilder, and a decision will be made very soon.

“The Bronze Bomber” last stepped into the ring to face Robert Helenius in October of last year. Malik Scott, the head coach of Wilder, revealed to the media that they are exploring another opponent for an August showdown.

Andy Ruiz vs Deontay Wilder bout preview

It would be a significant gap for the American boxer as he’d have to wait until December to fight AJ. Hence Wilder’s team is considering Ruiz as his next opponent, and the match must take place within August.

In order to go back in the ring as quickly as possible, the American boxer has been searching for a top boxer. The camp of ‘The Bronze Bomber’ has revealed that all top boxers are viable prospects especially the big contenders like Andy Ruiz.

Ruiz, who is also waiting to step into the ring for the first time this year, has recently talked about the fight. Andy threatened Wilder with a stern warning.

“We’re getting it – make sure you guys tune in. Big things coming up. Wilder, we’re coming, man. We’re just negotiating right now.” Ruiz said.

When was the last time Andy Ruiz fought?

The last time Ruiz (34-2, 22 KOs) fought was in a 12-round heavyweight contest against Ortiz (33-3, 28 KOs). After losing to Anthony Joshua, the “Destroyer” won his second straight fight in a WBC title eliminator in California at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

After defeating “King Kong,” Ruiz was eager to face Tyson Fury. Despite the fact that there have been many rumours regarding The Gipsy King and Andy engaging in combat. But after much conjecture, it seemed like the matchup with Wilder is the most plausible and closest.
