Despite Jon Moxley interest, CM Punk’s pitch to include himself in “Blood & Guts” match met with snub from AEW

Cm Punk is arguably one of the most controversial figures in professional wrestling since making his AEW comeback. Despite having a great amount of experience, The Best in the World is lacking in establishing himself again as a global star.

Punk had made his return on the debut show of AEW Collision. However, the ratings only raised once and then started again declining. However, recently the former WWE star has pitched himself to be included in Blood & Guts match but that doesn’t seem to be ended well.

CM Punk reportedly pitched himself to fill in for Bryan Danielson

For those unaware, a third AEW Blood & Guts Match is already confirmed by the All Elite Wrestling promotion. The match is slated to take place on the July 19th edition of AEW Dynamite from Boston. Currently, as per the card The Elite which includes Kenny Omega, Adam Page, Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson will face the Blackpool Combat Club which included  Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, Wheeler Yuta & Konosuke Takeshita. This match is set to be a four vs four match.

AEW Blood & Guts match mainly includes 2 rings with a cage on the top of it. It is similar to the War Games concept of WWE. However, many changes had already been made to this year’s Blood & Guts match due to the broken arm injury suffered by Bryan Danielson.

However, according to a report from Fightful Select, Cm Punk had actually pitched an idea to be part of the Blood & Guts match this year. Punk had already issues with The Elite group which started back in last year’s September All Out show. Even though he wants to be part of the same. The news was actually broke by Voice of Wrestling first which was then confirmed by the team of Fightful Select. It was reported that The Best in the World had pitched an idea to be the fifth member of the Blackpool Combat Club.

Despite, this offer the plans don’t come to the end which Punk really wants.

Punk’s idea got shot down due to previously determined participants

It was reported that almost everyone was against this idea which includes both factions. However, Jon Moxley had agreed with the pitch of Cm Punk. Ultimately the offer of Punk got rejected due to the reason that the participants were already determined for the match.

Hence the company doesn’t want to change its original plans and wants to continue with its current lineup for Blood & Guts.
