“Flew into NYC begging”: Eddie Hearn claps back at Oscar De Le Hoya amid Edgar Berlanga’s dominant win vs Jason Quigley

Eddie Hearn and Oscar De La Hoya’s heated argument changed course. As a result of Eddie responding furiously to Oscar after the latter delivered a sharp jab, the conflict between the two boxing promoters has intensified.

Due to continuous disagreements over whose promotion is putting on more lucrative cards and recruiting elite boxers, Eddie, the managing director of Matchroom Sport, and De La Hoya, the founder of Golden Boy Promotions, have continued to trade piercing shots.

Eddie Heran vs Oscar De La Hoya feud

Their ongoing feud began when Oscar mentioned Eddie in an insulting tweet saying that it was another ‘shity’ card from the Matchroom Sports in the US.

De La Hoya requested Hearn to go back to the UK and watch another fight of the year candidate on July 8 between Vergil Ortiz and Stanionis.

The American boxing promoter also took the name of Bob Arum while claiming that Bob said, Eddie has no clue what he’s doing in the US. Then Golden Boy took pride while saying, “I’ve been promoting for 20 years and will promote for another 40.”

Matchroom Sport, Hearn’s business, is well known for setting up and promoting boxing matches all over the world. Because of this, Eddie responded to Oscar in his most recent statements, saying he didn’t want to have a terrible relationship with a fellow boxing promoter.

” I like Oscar, you know, I’ve got nothing against him. He’s a little bit crazy. I hope he can find some happiness. He’s one of my favorite fighters, but he seems to have this strange attraction to me where he talks about me all the time,”  Eddie said.

Edgar Berlanga vs Jason Quigley overview

At the Hulu Theatre in New York, Edgar Berlanga outclassed Jason Quigley. With scores of 116-108, 116-108, and 118-106, Berlanga managed to maintain his perfect undefeated record in pro boxing.

Berlanga, however, graded his performance a C even though he’s just glad to have a victory in front of his hometown people. ‘The Chosen One’ also claimed that everybody who steps in the ring with him knows he’s got punching power.

However, the still undefeated super middleweight also appreciated his ring opponent for showing an incredible effort throughout the fight.

“I take my hat off to his team. They tried to have a great game plan for me. Every fighter that I face at his level, they’re gonna try to run and move around. I’m just grateful we got the victory. I was looking for a knockout.” Berlanga added.
