UFC Jacksonville: Brendan Allen not afraid of Khamzat Chimaev bout following stunning submission win vs Bruno Silva

Brendan Allen carried on his winning momentum at UFC Jacksonville as he submitted a dangerous Bruno Silva via rear naked choke in the dying seconds of the first round. Making his return inside the octagon after four months, All in engaged in an all-out striking brawl with the Brazilian middleweight.

Allen absorbed a lot of blows during these striking exchanges and was even hurt at one point. But he bounced back after landing a powerful right hook that dropped Silva on the ground. Thereafter he locked in a rear naked choke and finished the fight to pick his fifth successive win in the UFC.

Brendan Allen speaks on potential bout vs Khamzat Chimaev

Khamzat Chimaev is one of the most dangerous fighters on the UFC rosters and as a result, a lot of rivals are scared of taking a fight against the Borz. Consequently, with Chimaev making a move up to the middleweight division, many top contenders are linked with him for a fight. Similarly, after picking up an impressive win over Bruno Silva at UFC Jacksonville, Brendan Allen was questioned about his thoughts on a possible matchup against Khamzat Chimaev.

While speaking at the post-event press conference, Allen declared that he is not afraid of the Swedish fighter and will be ready for the challenge. “I fear no man, I fear no man. I turn down no fight. If that’s what he wants then he can get it. I don’t care if anyone can get it. Cannonier, Vettori anyone can get it.

“What he is going to take me down? Congratulations, you can take me down, I jump guard what are you gonna do with it? I’m a different beast. On my back, on top doesn’t matter I’m a beast.”

Brendan Allen seemed very confident in his skills and is ready to accept the challenge if Khamzat Chimaev decides to fight him. However, the likelihood of UFC booking this matchup is low as Brendan Allen is not a big star in the division and they are currently looking to schedule a fight between Chimaev and Usman at 185.

Brendan Allen calls out Israel Adesanya after his win at UFC Jacksonville

Brendan Allen did not waste any time after grabbing a spectacular submission win over Bruno Silva as he called out UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya for a fight. The American middleweight contender warned Izzy and advised him to be prepared for the challenge. He also claimed that he can pose a lot of threats to the Last Stylebender.

“I’m the youngest guy in the top 15 with the most fights. I will be the next champion. The only guy able to threaten the actual champion everywhere. Izzy, in 2024 I’m coming, said Allen while speaking to Daniel Cormier in the post-fight interview. For now, Brendan Allen might not be next in line to challenge Israel Adesanya for the belt.

But looking at the current scenario in which Izzy has defeated the top five fighters in the division, there is a possibility that Allen earns a title shot by racking up another win under his bag.
