Gervonta Davis set to face Ryan Garcia in Las Vegas, after brutal TKO victory over Hector Luis Garcia

Gervonta Davis has proved himself to the world yet again as the reigning WBA champion overcomes his sloppy start to brutalize his Dominican opponent Hector Luis Garcia. With this victory, the high voltage match against Ryan Garcia finally gets booked for April to take place in Las Vegas at the catchweight of 136 lbs.

The fight started off slow as Davis did not look like his usual self for a minute. Maybe the false domestic violence charge was wearing down on him but such a state didn’t last for long. By the fourth round, the undefeated fighter was back on his usual flow and began to chip away at his opponent. Finally, after the 8th round, Hector told his corner that his vision wasn’t working right and the fight was decided in the reigning champions’ favor.

Davis later said in an interview, “I was a little surprised but when I caught him, I knew that he was hurt and that he was hurt bad, He’s a fighter and I know he didn’t want to show it but he was hurt. I feel as though I have the stuff to work on. I’m a fighter and I’m not retired so my cup is never full. I’m always willing to learn.”

Gervonta celebrated the victory with a backflip.

Now the Tank is eyeing his next fight with his long-time rival Ryan Garcia. The two previously had a run-in at a nightclub where the current champ nearly started a fight with the challenger, though security later stepped in to stop the fight. ‘God willing, I’m ready for the fight,’ he said. ‘It’s scheduled for April and I’m here. On my end, I’m ready. I’ll take a week off and I’ll be back in the gym for sure,’ said Davis.

Ryan also declared his decision to take on Gervonta Davis stating, ‘Been thinking about it during the time they were figuring out this fight and I feel the fans and everyone who supports boxing have seen these tune-ups already it’s time that we give the fans what they want. Also, he requested the tune not me so let him handle the business. LET’S GO’

Who will you support in this mega-fight?
