Harry Kane’s Spurs exit nears, with PSG set to compete with Bayern Munich in transfer race

Before the opening of the transfer window, several clubs were in pursuit of a marquee goal scorer, and one of the hottest names in that department was Harry Kane. Despite being close to leaving Tottenham Hotspur in previous transfer windows, the England captain has never publicly expressed his desire to depart from the London club.

After a season of lackluster performances and heartbreaks, the Spurs are looking to find certainty around their number 9. The club chairman, Daniel Levy has been clear about his reluctance to sell the club’s captain. With several clubs heavily interested in the 29-year-old, and his contract nearing its end, can Tottenham Hotspur hold on to their club’s top scorer for yet another season?

Who will get Harry Kane between PSG and Bayern Munich?

Despite having a successful season on a personal front, the Englishman had a catastrophic end to the season with Tottenham Hotspur. Many clubs have expressed their desire to sign the England National Team captain following his consistent performances, including Premier League giants Manchester United. According to Fabrizio Romano, the London club has declined two bids from Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich, with the Bavarians’ latest offer exceeding $90 million.

According to the Independent, the French giants PSG are attempting to hijack the deal, given their longstanding interest in the 29-year-old striker. With the departure of Kylian Mbappe on the cards, PSG’s pursuit of Harry Kane cannot be ruled out, as they would be in dire need of a striker in that instance.

The England international is among the list of potential strikers being considered by the French champions, which also includes, Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani, and Serbian striker Dusan Valhovic.

Despite the opportunity to break Alan Shearer’s record for the most Premier League goals, various reports suggest that the England skipper is prepared to seek opportunities abroad. With the striker ready to board the flight for their preseason campaign in Australia, the battle between Bayern Munich and PSG could become a mouth-watering event for many fans.

Manchester United wants Harry Kane for free next summer

Erik Ten Hag has had a successful first season with the Red Devils by securing the third position and ending the club’s six-year trophy drought by winning the EFL Cup. The Dutchman wants to strengthen various areas of the field but not more than the attacking department.

Harry Kane

In the early stages of the transfer window, reports surfaced indicating that Manchester United had expressed interest in securing the English international. During the 2022/23 season, the England international played 38 Premier League matches, scoring 30 goals, making him the second-highest goal scorer, just behind the unstoppable Erling Haaland.

However, they faced disappointment as Daniel Levy was not interested in negotiating a deal with their English rivals. Reports also suggest that the Spurs rejected several bids from Manchester United for Kane already. With Harry Kane having just one year remaining on his contract, Manchester United is among several clubs eyeing the possibility of signing him as a free agent next summer.

As the clubs gear up for their pre-season campaigns, the transfer news and rumors are heating up. With already two bids from Bayern Munich getting rejected, PSG should have a clearer idea as to what is required to complete the signing of the England captain.
