“I can’t imagine him having the motivation to fight again if he comes back and gets KO’ed” Matt Brown expresses concern on Michael Chandler sending Conor McGregor to retirement

There have been a lot of opinions and anticipations involving the comeback match of the ‘Mystic Mac’. Ever since the announcement of his participation ins TUF and bout at the end of the season, many combat sports fans and officials including Matt Brown have given their opinions on what can come out of Michael Chandler vs Conor McGregor.

Per the rumors, both Conor and Chandler will lead two teams when TUF 31 eventually happens and at the end of the season, they will duke it out inside the octagon. There seems to be a lot at stake for the controversial Irish and Matt decides to discuss the implications a loss could ve for ‘notorious’s career,

“I have a hard time seeing [Conor] fighting again if he comes back and he loses, especially a bad loss like that. He doesn’t have any reason to [fight again]. He’s coming back because he loves fighting and he wants to put on a show and he wants to be a champion again, I’m sure. I can’t imagine him having the motivation to fight again if he comes back and gets knocked out by Michael Chandler.”

How justified are Matt Brown’s claims about Michael Chandler vs Conor McGregor?

Conor indeed has a lot at stake. At 34 years, the Irish no longer holds his composure as his younger self did. The fighter who knocked out Jose Aldo in record time and became the double champ with the lightweight and featherweight title is long gone. Conor has definitely had a strong career and his financials are not in a poor state.

The issue with Conor is that he will probably not be able to take on a weak opponent and ride off into the sunset as a winner, owing to his reputation. If Chandler does decide to wrestle with him then it can be bad news for him. Even in a ‘stand-and-bang’ match, Michael is the younger fighter who can probably outstrike the bruised and battered McGregor.

Who will you be supporting in this match?
