‘I’m ready for the violence’ UFC lightweight Drew Dober calls out potential backup Michael Chandler in case Jalin Turner fight fails to materialize

The lightweight division in the UFC can’t seem to catch a break. Hosting the biggest stars in the sport for a very long time, the division is stacked even at the lower end of the ranking bracket. Drew Dober is currently the 14th ranked 155 pounder and he is eyeing the bigger fish in his division.

UFC Vegas 66 saw Bobby ‘King’ Green and Drew Dober go on a battle in ‘The Sin CIty’. Bobby managed to land some shots but Dobers ‘Crimson Chin’ took the shots as if they were nothing. Finally Green was KOed in the second round by Dober. The victorious lightweight went on to call out Jalin Turner in his post-fight interview.

As it later turned out, Jalin was not the only fighter in Drews’s mind. The Nebraska-born fighter targets Michael Chandler if the rumored bout against Conor Mcgregor fails to materialize. Dober went on to establish his case with his trademark respectful remarks on Twitter.

Dober is currently on a 3-fight-winning streak. Jalin Turner is a standout lightweight for his 6 foot 3 height and not many fighters are willing to fight him. Jalin himself has previously shown interest in taking on Drew Dober. If both these fighters clash then the winner can potentially claim the 10/11th position in the rankings.

Michael Chandler on the other hand has been putting on fireworks performances one after the other. But his only victories have come against comparatively washed-out fighters like Tony Ferguson and Dan Hooker. It is probably best for him to take on a low-ranked opponent for a change.

Both fighters are approaching their 40s and probably won’t compete for long. A matchup between these heavy strikers would be a dream matchup for MMA fans across the globe.
