Israel Adesanya highly levers promotional newcomer Raul Rosas Jr by comparing recent debutante with Khamzat Chimaev

Raul Rosas Jr. started his professional MMA journey in November 2021 but got huge recognition when this Mexican fighter joined Dana White’s contender series back in September 2022.

The 18-year-old already had a 7-fight winning streak with no losses in his professional career. In his last appearance on the preliminary card of UFC 282, Rosas Jr. faced Jay Perrin and secured a dominating first-round submission victory.

This fight earned him $50,000 from Dana’s pocket, and the current No. 1 ranked middleweight contender, Israel Adesanya, is impressed with the newcomer’s fighting style.  The New Zealander even compared Rosas Jr.’s grappling skills to those of Khazmat Chimaev. In his YouTube channel, Adesanya reacted:

“He’s like a mini Khamzat, the way he’s fighting at the moment. He’s reminding me of Khamzat. Wow. What a fight. Yeah, he’s in the money, haha! Give him the money.”

This 2:44 victory earned the Mexican several fights in the UFC, and it is estimated that Raul Rosas Jr. will feature in the upcoming UFC events. “El Nino Problema” called out current UFC bantamweight title holder Aljamain Sterling as his opponent for his upcoming bout.

“Like, I said, I’m not saying stuff just to say it. Like, everything I say is true, and like, people don’t believe in me. But I believe in myself. And I’m just out there and proving it. Like, that’s probably not going to happen, because people don’t know if I could actually really do that.”

“I know I can, so I’m just staying active. I’m gonna keep finishing everybody in an impressive way. And show everybody I’m ready to go for that title.”

The Funk Master didn’t forget to mock the Mexican; Sterling certainly responded to the call out from his Twitter, stating that Henry Cejudo had withdrawn from the upcoming Sterling’s title defending bout.

“They should make that fight next. I really think that Rosas will fu*k him up! I heard Cejudos out and Rosas is in.”
