“It would be a great fight”: Mackenzie Dern calls out Rose Namajunas after dominating victory vs Angela Hill at UFC Vegas 73

Strawweight contender Mackenzie Dern headlined the UFC Vegas 73 event against Angela Hill in a five-round bout that took place at the Apex in Las Vegas. Leading into this matchup, the American fighter was on the back of a tough loss in her last fight against Yan Xiaonan.

However, Dern didn’t allow the outcome of her last fight to play any kind of role in this main event clash as she dominated Angela Hill from start to finish. Mackenzie was full of confidence as she picked apart Overkill and won the fight 49-43, 49-44 and 49-44 via unanimous decision. For this performance, both the strawweight contenders earned an extra $50k as a Fight of the Night bonus.

Mackenzie expresses her interest to fight Rose Namajunas next

After putting up a stellar performance against Angela Hill in the main event of UFC Vegas 73, Mackenzie Dern received a third stripe on her black belt from her coach. Thereafter she had a conversation with Michael Bisping where they looked back at some of the highlights from her unanimous decision win.

During this interview, The Count also asked Dern who she wants to fight next. “Man, I don’t know. What’s Rose up to you know if she’s interested in fighting? I’d like to fight Rose,” said Dern. “Definitely for sure to fight Rose is a priority of mine right now. I think it would be a great fight, a good main event, and a good test for both of us. So, when I see her training her jiu-jitsu, I’m like it’s not gonna be an easy fight, but I think it could be a great fight for the public and for us.”
