Jon Jones leaves a message for Francis Ngannou, ‘the biggest fight’ confirmed for 2023?

The UFC Heavyweight division usually doesn’t fail to offer starfighters one after the other. Francis Ngannou has been touted as the ‘uncrowned champ’ by many for a long time. The Heavyhitter finally managed to get his hands on the gold after defeating Stipe Miocic on UFC 260.

Since becoming the champion, Ngannou has been wrapped up in disagreements and contract issues with the UFC for a long time now. The Cameroonian thinks the payment he’s receiving is not adequate. He argues that payment from a single big boxing match can potentially settle him for life.

But the UFC has other plans, they want to match the ‘predator’ against former light-weight champ Jon Jones. Fans have been eagerly waiting to see the Jon Jones vs Francis Ngannou card as well. But owing to some reasons the bout has been getting canceled again and again. Frustrated Jon Jones has now left a hint, that gives us some hope regarding the fight.

Many fans have interpreted this Tweet as some sort of confirmation of the matchup. Francis Ngannou has also added fuel to the fire by Tweeting his own training footage.

Why is this fight significant?

We can discuss the significance of this fight by citing former title challenger Chael Sonnen. The retired fighter spoke on the Francis Ngannou vs Jon Jones situation on his YouTube channel.

“Jon Jones vs. Francis, I think, is the biggest fight you can put on in our industry. It’s also going to be the first fight where [two fighters] have four years of inactivity between the two of them. It’s a very peculiar situation,” Sonnen said.

“I’m just sharing with you that if he comes back and is still undisputed champion, he’s in a pretty good spot, and in fact, it would be a title fight because he’s the one bringing the title. But if he gets stripped, all bets are off,” he concluded.

When do you think this fight will take place?
