Lewis Hamilton must pay attention to ex-Renault boss’ warning to succeed at Ferrari

Following the bombshell announcement of seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton moving to Ferrari in 2025, the Formula One community was hit with a shockwave of surprise. It was sudden and surprising news for everyone, especially for those on the Mercedes side.

Hamilton looks to have taken off in confidence after signing for F1’s Italian Giants, Scuderia Ferrari. While most people in the F1 world are taking it as a positive step for his career, one man has sent a special ‘warning’ to him ahead of his shock move.

Flavio Briatore warns Lewis Hamilton

The Ferrari F1 team looks to have skyrocketed with confidence after securing Lewis Hamilton. Everyone in and off Ferrari’s camp has been talking all positive about this hot topic.

However, one man has shown a ‘strikingly’ different angle of the story. In an exclusive interview with LaPresse, ex-Renault boss Flavio Briatore shared his personal insights about the ‘controversial’ move.

“First of all, you have to get the car right, you can also have Batman in the team, but if the car is not competitive it’s not like the driver can make a difference,” he added.

Ferrari’s recent cars have been quite ‘unpredictable’, which can be clearly seen in their performances. Briotare brought up this topic during the interview and warned Hamilton that he won’t succeed if Ferrari competes with the same type of car in 2025.

Talking about this move, he said, “I’m very surprised by Hamilton’s move to Ferrari, he must have had his reasons”.

“Why surprised? I think he has warned the team these days, Mercedes has done a lot for him. But they will get used to this reality. I think Hamilton’s decision has really thrown them for a loop”, he told LaPresse.

Lewis Hamilton completes childhood dream with Ferrari deal

A day after the official announcement from Mercedes, former F1 champion Lewis Hamilton posted an emotional tweet on X, bidding adieu to the team he raced for the past 11 years. Months after initially rejecting Ferrari, he will now join the Italian giants for the 2025 season.

About joining Ferrari, he added “… after an incredible 11 years at Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team, the time has come for me to start a new chapter in my life, and I will be joining Scuderia Ferrari in 2025”.

“I feel incredibly fortunate, after achieving things with Mercedes that I could only have dreamed of as a kid, that I now have the chance to fulfil another childhood dream. Driving in Ferrari red,” he continued.
