Michael Chandler expects to have advantage over Conor McGregor claiming to stop ‘Notorious’ in second round of UFC fight

Michael Chandler’s dream fight with Conor has finally come true, and he plans to knock out the Irishman in the second round.

Dana White made several major announcements on Saturday in a press conference, but the most significant was definitely Conor McGregor’s comeback to the Octagon this year against Michael Chandler.

In a recent interview with ESPN, Chandler discussed his thoughts on the confirmed fight with Conor. However, both lightweight fighters will serve as coaches on the upcoming 31st season of The Ultimate Fighter, which begins on May 30.

Even though Chandler praised The Irishman, saying, ‘Conor more in a larger, wider, take-up-more-space stance in order to project kind of that domineering spirit of himself,’ he admitted that he has greater strength, stronger wrestling, and superior grappling expertise, and he is more of a ‘missile coming at you, making you feel my presence right away, I want to get my hands on you’ kind of person.

Chandler, who is currently ranked seventh in the lightweight division, has a record of 23-8 in mixed martial arts, and is 2-3 in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). Chandler has been wanting to face Conor for a very long time so he has plenty of plans on how to defeat The Notorious.

“If he lands one on the button, it’s going to be a rough night for me. If I land one on the button, it’s going to be a rough night for him, but which one of us can do it? I’m going to get in his face, make him take a backwards step right away, and he’s going to feel my presence from the very beginning of the fight, and then from there wherever the fight takes us.” Chandler said.

In 2021, Chandler won his first fight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), which was against Dan Hooker. Despite this, the American boxer won only one of his next four bouts, and that victory came against Tony Ferguson. At UFC 281, he also suffered a loss, this time at the hands of Dustin Poirier.

“If I want to pick him up and put him down, I can pick him up and put him down and put a beating on him and get a submission that way. I believe I finish Conor in the second round. That’s my ‘Mystic Mike’ take on this later on this year whenever it is” Chandler further added.

Who do you think will come out on top between Iron and The Notorious in the fight that they are now involved in?
