Nate Diaz reacts to Mike Tyson’s admiration of Conor McGregor for 2017 bout vs Floyd Mayweather

Nate Diaz was taken aback by Mike Tyson’s unexpected praise of Conor McGregor’s performance against Floyd Mayweather. McGregor, arguably the most famous UFC fighter in recent history, fought Mayweather, a boxing legend, in 2017. The fight was the second-highest-selling combat sports pay-per-view event in history.

Mayweather eventually won the match in the tenth round, but Tyson was impressed by McGregor’s performance, despite allegations that Mayweather purposefully prolonged the fight for the audience’s entertainment.

“[McGregor] never really had a boxing match in his life right?” Tyson said in an episode of his HotBoxin’ podcast. “He went 10 rounds with the greatest fighter in the last 100 years of boxing.”

“He went 10 rounds, scored punches on the greatest fighter in the last 20 years — 100 years. See, people ain’t looking at it. People just wanna say ‘The Black guy beat the White guy.’ They just want to see it. But look at what he had to fight against. And look at what he did when he fought against it,” he continued.

Nate Diaz and McGregor: The Rivalry Continues

McGregor fought Mayweather a year after his clash against Diaz in the UFC. He lost the first fight via submission against Diaz but won the second by points. Diaz has highlighted the violent nature of his victory over McGregor compared to Mayweather’s win in the tenth round.

“I took him all the way out in about eight minutes right before that. What does that tell you? Finished, dead,” tweeted Nate while tagging the heavyweight legend.

Diaz and McGregor had an intense and exciting rivalry that captivated UFC enthusiasts. Many have speculated about a third fight between the two at some point down the line. However, it appears that the highly anticipated rumble is not likely to happen anytime soon. Nate left the UFC after defeating Tony Ferguson in September of last year. Conor is currently concentrating on his own comeback for the UFC, where he is set to fight Michael Chandler.

Furthermore, McGregor has two fights remaining on his current contract. Let us know your thoughts regarding the return of ‘Mystic Mac’ in the comment section below.
