Aaron Rodgers advocates Odell Beckham Jr. among others to join him as he reportedly offers input on Jets’ free agent targets

With the Jets or the Packers, Rodgers’ future is still up in the air. The New York Jets are purportedly working to make a trade for Aaron Rodgers, and the quarterback has reportedly given them a list of players he wants, including surprising names.

There is a lot of speculation among sports analysts about Rodgers’ future, including whether or not he will join the Jets or renew his contract with the Packers. The four-time NFL MVP tweeted a coded message on March 14 that read “SULLLLLL,” adding fuel to the rumor.

Who is on the wish list of Aaron Rodgers?

ESPN stated on Tuesday that Rodgers sent the Jets “a wish list of free agents.” Four players were highlighted by the quarterback who worked closely with them in Green Bay: tight end Marcedes Lewis, wide receivers Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb, and quarterback Odell Beckham Jr.

Odell Beckham Jr., a former Brown who was moved to Cleveland in a blockbuster deal in the 2019 offseason, is probably not going back to Cleveland this offseason for a second stint with the organization. Beckham Jr. recorded 74 receptions for 1,035 yards and four scores in his rookie campaign with the Browns.

Lewis played at least 200 run-blocking snaps last season. This quarterback will turn 39 on May 19 and is going to begin his 18th season in the NFL, which would break the NFL record for the most seasons by a tight end that he shares with Jason Witten and Tony Gonzalez.

Lazard has played his whole season in Green Bay with Rodgers, and during his 15 games with this team last season, the quarterback produced a career-high 60-788-6 receiving line. Later on March 14, the Jets and Allen reportedly reached an agreement on a four-year, $44 million contract, according to nfl.com.

One of the 14 unrestricted free agents for the Green Bay Packers and a wide receiver, Randall Cobb, hauled in 34 passes on 50 targets for 417 yards and one touchdown last year.

While Rodgers mulls over whether to retire, stay with Green Bay, or accept the trade to New York, the Jets and Packers need to determine who their quarterback will be in 2023 in order to fill up their rosters.
