NFL Trade Rumors: Sean Payton unveils Broncos’ strategy for Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton amid speculations

The Denver Broncos head coach, Sean Payton, has squashed all the rumors regarding the release of wide receiver duo Courtland Sutton and Jerry Jeudy.

The duo had a successful season in 2022, and franchises are now trying to lure them to change their jerseys. The Dallas Cowboys went after Jerry as their first-choice receiver, and Courtland was on the radar for several franchises, and they all went down the drain after Sean commented on their future.

Recently in an interview, the Broncos coach revealed their strategy with the two WRs, which includes no trading or drafting out.

What did Sean Payton say?

In an interview with NFL insider Tom Pelissero on Sunday, the newly appointed HC said, “When people call and the phone rings like it does this time of year, George Paton’s job is to pick it up and say, ‘Hey. Tell you what, we’re not.’ And so, we’ve received calls, you bet. Those are two good football players. But we’re in the business of gathering talent right now.”

“I see and read just like everyone else does. Then occasionally, when someone really crowds the plate, I throw a fastball right at their chin, and they back up, and they’re like, ‘Alright.’ And so I haven’t thrown any fastballs lately, but we’re not trading those two players,” the 59-year-old shattered all the speculations.

Sutton has been with the Broncos for five years and was named to the Pro Bowl once. He might not be the best in the league, but with the team’s chemistry and experience, Payton sees him as one of the untouchables.

On the other hand, the 23-year-old Jeudy had a terrific season in his third year at the organization, scoring six receiving touchdowns and covering 972 yards in 67 receptions. It seems highly unlikely that the 2009 Super Bowl-winning coach would want to let the youngster go to another team.

The starting duo is assumed to be an integral part of the team, as they consider their star quarterback, Russell Wilson, to be rejuvenated from his subpar performance last season. The Broncos finished last in the AFC West with a 5-12 record, and they are not taking any chances to repeat such a scenario by letting their best performers go.
