Piers Morgan claims Al Nasar ace Cristiano Ronaldo wanted to sign for Arsenal after Manchester United exit

Piers Morgan has sensationally revealed that superstar Cristiano Ronaldo wanted to join Arsenal after leaving Manchester United.

The Portuguese sensation joined Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr in January after parting ways with Manchester United. The player had given a bombshell interview with Piers Morgan where he criticized the club and its management. This led to him parting ways with the club.

With no other European team taking Ronaldo in their team, he joined Al Nassr. The Saudi club offered the star footballer a contract of 200 million euros a year that made him the world’s best-paid player.

What did Piers Morgan say?

Piers Morgan recently claimed that Arsenal should have tried to sign Cristiano Ronaldo in the winter as he knows to score goals ‘when it really matters’.

In his Twitter account, he wrote, “Mock all you like, but if we’d signed Ronaldo when he left Utd, until the end of the season – as he was keen to do btw – we would have won the League. He knows how to win major trophies, and how to score goals when it really matters.”

Arsenal was in a title charge this season but failed horribly to maintain it at the end of the season. A big factor was the absence of forward Gabriel Jesus through injury.

Piers, who is a big fan of Arsenal and an admirer of Ronaldo, may have fabricated the story. Though Ronaldo nor any other sources have said anything on this yet,

But if Ronaldo really was interested in joining Arsenal, then the Gunners could have had one of their rival’s best players on a free transfer. Though it seems unlikely for Arsenal to offer Ronaldo huge wages, we will never know what could have happened.

Cristiano Ronaldo at Al Nassr so far

Ronaldo continued his great scoring streak in Saudi Arabia, scoring in Al Nassr’s 2-0 victory against Al Ta’ee yesterday. He scored their first goal of the game before being controversially refused a penalty after being hauled down inside the penalty box. The Saudi team then scored three more to seal a comfortable win.

Ronaldo has nine victories, two draws, and four losses in all competitions in his four months with the club. The five-time winner has some right to be upset, having scored 13 goals in his 15 games. The Portuguese forward may not win any trophy at the end of the season. This could make him trophyless for the second season in a row.

Saudi Lawyer Files Suit Against Cristiano Ronaldo After Calls Made To Deport Al Nassr Captain From The Country For 'Public Indecency'

Ronaldo had his second cup exit of the season when Al Wehda beat Al Nassr 1-0. This was in the King Cup of Champions semi-finals. Additionally, he was already eliminated from the Saudi Super Cup in January. And now his club is three points behind league leaders Al Ittihad.

Ronaldo has also had some negative incidents on the pitch. He performed a harsh tackle on an opposition player earning him some mockery from fans. And also apparently did an indecent gesture towards rival fans.

The striker is also facing some off-the-field problems. He was recently seen in a hospital where his daughter was undergoing surgery. He is also reportedly facing problems in his relationship with his girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez.

Al Nassr will next face Al Shabab in the Saudi Pro League next Wednesday. Ronaldo will hope to score again and help his team win the game.
