Shavkat Rakhmonov reveals he is not worried about potential bout vs Khamzat Chimaev claiming ‘If we are meant to fight, we’re gonna fight’

Fans are excited to see a fight between unbeaten welterweight fighters Shavkat Rakhmonov and Khamzat Chimaev, but Shavkat is not particularly keen on having this fight any time in the near future.

Both Shavkat and Khamzat are presently unbeaten, with Shavkat’s record in the UFC standing at 4-0 and Khamzat’s record in the UFC standing at 6-0 respectively. In a recent interview with Sportskeeda, the Kazakh mixed martial arts fighter was asked whether or not he would be interested in competing against Khamzat.

“No, not reality. If we are meant to fight, we’re gonna fight. If not, It’s not big of a deal but of course, I have my own sports interest to compete with him but [if] it’s not gonna happen, it’s not a big deal.” Shavkat said.

Shavkat Rakhmonov is currently preparing for his next fight against Geoff Neal, which has been rescheduled from January 14 to March 4 at UFC 285. Rakhmonov was ready for the fight, but it ended up not happening because Geoff Neal suffered an unexpected injury.

In the last three years, Nomad (16-0 overall MMA) has won all four of his fights. For that reason, his upcoming bout with Geoff Neal has generated so much anticipation he put in a lot of time and effort in order to be ready for the fight. Shavkat’s expectations were dashed when the American fighter ( 2-2 in the last four bouts) was hurt.

Rakhmonov is undefeated with victories against Neil Magny, Alex Oliveira, Michel Prazeres, and Carlston Harris, while Handz Of Steel has won two of his last four bouts, over Vicente Luque and Santiago Ponzinibbio. Each fighter enters this match looking to continue a winning streak. UFC enthusiasts are eagerly looking forward to seeing Shavkat Rakhmanov battle Geoff Neal in the octagon.

Do you think there will be a fight between Shavkat and Chimaev in the future?
