Sheikh Jassim to axe top Manchester United officials including club legend Darren Fletcher upon successful takeover

The Manchester United takeover saga continues as Erik Ten Hag eagerly awaits a decision from the Glazers family in order to go all out in the summer transfer window.

Erik ten Hag is actively pursuing a goalkeeper, midfielder, and striker as Manchester United’s summer transfer activity picks up steam. But as the Glazers continue to keep supporters, employees, and bidders in the dark about their sale decision, the club’s takeover situation looms large in the background.

According to reports, the Glazers stopped Sheikh Jassim from pursuing two outstanding deals that he was hoping to close if he bought United this summer. Sir Jim Ratcliffe is still in the running but is thought to be falling behind Sheikh Jassim in the race to seize power at Old Trafford.

However, new speculation indicates that Sheikh Jassim will proceed with a complete overhaul of Manchester United’s management should he be able to complete the purchase.

Sheikh Jassim to plant trustworthy figures in top official seats at United

A member of the United hierarchy may be replaced if Sheikh Jassim succeeds in his bid for takeover, according to rumors. The Qatari banker might want to appoint individuals he trusts to take the place of a number of the current officials.

The positions of the company’s CEO, Richard Arnold, director of football, John Murtough, and technical director, Darren Fletcher, might be in jeopardy. It is believed that Murtough and Erik ten Hag get along well when it comes to transfers, and Fletcher’s dismissal would be strange given Sheikh Jassim’s rumored desire to work with club legends.

Darren Fletcher could be on his way out of Manchester United after a long relationship

Darren Fletcher had an incredible 15-year career at Manchester United, from 2003 to 2015. Fletcher was an integral part of Sir Alex Ferguson’s squad. He won several trophies with the club, including five Premier League titles and the UEFA Champions League in 2008.

Fletcher took on the role of assistant manager of the Manchester United youth team in 2020. He was promoted to first team coach the following year, and eventually took on the role of technical director.

But, if the rumors turn out to be true, the 39-year-old Scottish manager could be parting ways with the club after such a long history. Should it happen, this will be the end of an incredible journey, and would surely be a heartbreaking one.
