“Speaking of numbers 1-3”: Fans hilariously troll Israel Adesanya for boasting UFC title belts after defeating Alex Pereira

Israel Adesanya created history last weekend in Miami at the UFC 287 PPV as he brutally knocked out Alex Pereira in the main event to become the first fighter to win the middleweight title twice. Following his win over arch-rival, Izzy enjoyed a few days in Miami and partied with his friends and family.

After returning to New Zealand this week, The Last Stylebender posted a tweet to remind fans that he is a two-time champion and is the only fighter in history to have achieved this feat. Izzy posed with his two belts and uploaded pictures on his social media handles.

However, instead of receiving praise from fight fans for his incredible feat, the middleweight champion had to face a lot of criticism. Fight fans were quick to remind Adesanya that his rival Alex Pereira still has a better record than him and trolled him for using numbers in his statement.

Fight fans and even fighters like Henry Cejudo and many others want to see a trilogy bout between Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira. Because they have both won one fight each and it sets up a great story for a trilogy matchup. But with Poatan moving up to light heavyweight and Izzy showing no interest in offering an immediate rematch, we might not see them squaring off again this year.

Israel Adesanya wants to fight again this summer

After the conclusion of the UFC Fight Night: Holloway vs Allen at Kansas City, Dana White gave an update on Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya’s next fight. The UFC President revealed that Israel Adesanya has been blowing his phone up and wants to fight again before the end of summer.

Dana’s statement might come as a surprise to many as Izzy just fought on April 8th. However, Adesanya is one of the most active fighters on the roster and he has fought 10 times in four years. But the question that arises is who will Izzy defend his belt against. Whittaker deserves a shot at the belt but the current champion has made it clear he wants to compete against new faces.

Do let us know in the comments section who you think should be Israel Adesanya’s next opponent.
