Two time F1 champ Max Verstappen once forced to walk miles by father Jos Verstappen in racing gear

Max Verstappen is the new F1 sensation and has managed to dominate two entire seasons in a row. He recently broke a long-standing F1 record of nine consecutive wins and took the competition to another level with his racing skills.

Mark Hughes has recently written a biography of Max Verstappen. The book is titled “Unstoppable” which aptly complements his current performances. The book revealed a very shocking detail about his childhood, which has created a lot of controversy in the media and among fans alike.

Max Verstappen’s long walk home from karting track

A horrifying incident was put into light when a story from Max Verstappen’s karting days was published in the book. His past has been keenly observed by the people, and this new incident created quite a debate among the audience.

According to this new memory shared by him, Verstappen once had to walk back to the hotel from the karting track as a scary punishment given by his father and ex-racer Jos Verstappen.

As per “Unstoppable,” Max couldn’t perform in the kart race according to his father’s expectations. His father didn’t take it lightly, and he punished the driver for walking back to the hotel. Reportedly, Verstappen had his driver’s suit and helmet on to serve his punishment. However, Max Verstappen managed to get a hitchhike and go back to the hotel directly, disobeying his father. But somehow his father managed to find out his tactics, and he immediately drove the driver back to the petrol pump.

Does Verstappen have a good relationship with Jos?

Jos Verstappen supports Max ‘fiercely’; he has attended every race of the driver from his Torro Rosso days in 2015. He has always taken pride in his son and never blames him in front of the media.

Although these incidents, which were shared by Max, hint towards traumatic and toxic behavior from his father, Max indeed has a normal relationship with his father, Jos Verstappen. Fans were shocked and furious over his dad calling him out for his mistakes and pretty much creating banter around him.

Max Verstappen, on the other hand, has dismissed such concerns; he thinks that such behavior by his father has indeed shaped him into a better driver and helped him achieve the heights he has managed to garner today.

What do you think about Jos Verstappen’s behavior towards his son? Do you think it was wrong of his father, or do you agree with Max’s words? Share your opinions with us in the comments.
