When will Khamzat Chimaev make his UFC return?

Borz’s last fight at UFC 294 was the real test for him, as he competed against one of the UFC welterweight’s best wrestlers. After a tough fight game in three rounds, Chimaev did find his way to victory, but it was not easy as the results went to the judges. It was the majority decision that went in favor of the Russian fighter.

Recently, Bo Nickal made a big statement about Khamzat Chimaev’s future in the UFC. Nickal is the winner of Dana White’s contender series 56, winning two fights in a row in just five months this year. Nickal compared Khamzat’s faith with Charles Oliveira and Melvin Guillard.

He also mentioned he will not compete with Khamzat Chimaev that easily, comparing it with how fighters showcase themselves as tough, but after some time they just fade away. “I’m not—I said this the last time I saw him fight—I’m not sold on him yet. I’m not sold on Khamzat Chimaev.”

Nickal first mentioned there are some fighters in the past who show like they are still there for resurgence, but they don’t act upon it.

“Everyone’s like, ‘You’re stupid; you’re being a hater,’ I’m like, No, I don’t care what you guys say. I’ve been in the fight game a long, long time. Fighters come, fighters go. They explode into the scene, and guess what? Then they linger around for a little bit, hoping to get back on track, but some of them never do, and some have a resurgence.”

Later, he talked about how Charles Oliveira and Melvin Guillard both an image in the fighting community of having big fireworks before their fight, but they later just fade away.

“Charles Oliveira is one of the guys who had a resurgence. A lot of guys in the past never did. Melvin Guillard never did. He came on like fireworks and then just kind of fizzled out and faded away, and I don’t even know where he’s at now. You know what I mean. That’s no knock on him; that happens to a lot of fighters; I’m just using him as an example.”

According to Bo Nickal, he doesn’t have enough of what it takes to defeat in a fight, “Khamzat Chimaev, I don’t think that’s going to happen to him; he’s got great wrestling, but he doesn’t have the wrestling of Bo Nickal.”

So what do you guys think? Who will be the next challenge for Khamzat Chimaev? How much time will it take until fans get to see Borz get back into the action?
