As per reports, when Rooney was asked if he had sympathy for Rashford, he instantly said, “Not much, to be honest. He’s in a privileged position where he is playing for Manchester United.” Rooney also gave his thoughts on Rashford, as he believes that he’s the only player who can break his all-time club record for most goals scored.
Rooney also added that “he [Rashford] needs to hit consistently. He is not having the best of seasons, so he needs to find some form and become a leader.” Rashford has scored only seven goals in the 27 games he has appeared for Manchester United in the league.
Rashford scored his seventh goal of the season after converting the penalty against Everton. With the 2-0 win against Everton, Manchester United sits fifth at the table and is fighting for the top four positions. With his calibre, he could surely look for a new club, given Manchester United’s struggling form in previous seasons, but it looks like he will be staying at his boyhood club for the coming years.

Despite these rumors, Marcus Rashford has decided that he ‘wants to stay’ at Manchester United and is not looking for a new club. The Englishman was reportedly a target of PSG as a potential replacement for Kylian Mbappe. However, journalist Ben Jacob has told GIVEMESPORT that Rashford may have developed a ‘stronger relationship’ with Erik ten Hag, ruling out any transfer rumors around Rashford.
Rashford, who was recently dropped from the squad on the grounds of disciplinary rules, hinted at a possible rift between him and Ten Hag. However, the attacker has reaffirmed his commitment again and proved his loyalty, expressing his desire to continue playing for the Red Devils.
