“We are working on something”: UFC president Dana White drops bombshell update on Jon Jones vs Stipe Miocic heavyweight title bout

The announcement of Jon Jones’ next fight has been eagerly anticipated by fans ever since he triumphantly returned to the octagon by defeating Cyril Gane. Recently, Dana White discussed the upcoming heavyweight title fight.

Since Francis Ngannou left the organization, the former heavyweight champion returned to the UFC with more than simply the purpose of filling in as the heavyweight champion. Jones apparently has higher ambitions; with the additional weight he’s gained, Bones intends to seize the title of heavyweight king.

Update from Dana White on Jon Jones vs Stipe Miocic

In a recent interview on The Pat McAfee Show, UFC president talked about many probable upcoming fights. Dana also ensured that he’s working on the much-anticipated heavyweight title battle as well.

“Jon Jones. We are working on something for him later this year . Everybody knows that we are targeting MSG and possibly him and Stipe Miocic.” Dana said.

Although nothing is official yet, it appears that a large arena is necessary for a battle of this magnitude. The Madison Square Garden in New York will likely host UFC 295 in November. This is where Jones will face Miocic to defend his heavyweight belt, according to numerous reports.

Bones challenged The Silencer for one last heavyweight battle!

After a three-year absence, Jones joyously made his octagon comeback, but as soon as the fight was over, he set his sights on Stipe Miocic. Bones declared that Miocic, a former two-time UFC Heavyweight Champion, was someone he would be interested in facing in his next bout or perhaps his one last battle.

The 40-year-old heavyweight Miocic did not back down from Jones’ challenge; instead, he responded to Jones’ challenge in an interview with Brett Okamoto by declaring that he wants to end Jon’s heavyweight title run when they fight.

One of the greatest heavyweights in UFC history, The Silencer, acknowledges Jones’ prominence but also thinks he is stronger and capable of beating Bones. The experienced fighter has not entered the octagon since losing to former champion Francis Ngannou in 2021.
