Why does Dana White want UFC judge probed after Noche main event draw? Looking at the potential Valentina Shevchenko vs Alexa Grasso trilogy

Dana White is furious about the Noche UFC main event result. The Noche UFC main event at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas featured a women’s flyweight title rematch between Alexa Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko. The fight had moments of back-and-forth action that ended in a split draw.

Alexa Grasso retained her flyweight title, pleasing the pro-Mexican crowd celebrating Mexican Independence. The fight was closely contested as media members and fans were divided on who won the fight. But Dana White feels that the fight was robbed of a winner due to an error in the judges’ decision.

Why Dana White wants the judge to be investigated?

Dana White blasted judge Mike Bell who scored the fifth round of the bout, 10-8. The CEO of the UFC strongly disagreed with the judge’s decision regarding the 10-8 round. It is a relatively rare occurrence. It’s common for Dana White to express his opinions when he disagrees with judging decisions.

White was not present at Noche UFC as he was on vacation. The UFC CEO even wanted Mike Bell to be investigated. While speaking at the presser of the Dana White Contender Series, White clarified that the athletic commission reassured him of Bell’s credibility. He also urged the need for the best judges to be in title fights. White further explained that if Rounds 2 and 3 were not 10-8, how Round 5 was graded a 10-8 bewildered him.

Dana White is not a big fan of boring decisions. He always tells the fighter to look for the finish. Exciting finishes are what drives fans and popularity to the sport. The Bonus payment structure is specifically designed for the fighters to go for the finish.

Draws happening on title fights are very rare. The latest draw in the title fight was when Brandon Moreno and Deiveson Figuerido fought for the first time. Before that, Tyron Woodley and Stephen Thompson fought to a draw in their first meeting as well. Both fights ended in a Majority Draw.

Dana White talks on Grasso vs. Shevchenko III

The CEO of the UFC is adamant that Grasso and Shevchenko will be competing in a trilogy fight very soon. White feels that the error in the decision is forcing the promotion to book a third fight with Shevchenko and the Mexican champion.

White had very harsh words for Mike Bell who scored the 5th round of the bout 10-8 in favor of Grasso. He clarified that Shevchenko dominated Grasso in the third round and it should have been a 10-8 round for the Peruvian Kyrgyzstani fighter.

Valentina Shevchenko is scheduled to have surgery on her hand. This would mean that a trilogy fight would not be happening very soon. Erin Blanchfield and Manon Fiorot are sitting at number 2 and 3 in the rankings and are on a big win streak as well.
