“You’re going to love it here Aaron Rodgers”: Jets owner Woody Johnson welcomes A-Rod following blockbuster trade

The New York Jets owner Woody Johnson was eyeing legendary quarterback Aaron Rodgers from early January as he marked quarterback as “the missing piece” and hinted to make a bold move to bounce back in the league and after the end of a long trade saga, the franchise finally succeeded to acquire one of the best QB in the NFL.

Aaron got himself enrolled in the Jets roster as the Green Bay Packers traded their veteran player to the Jets for the No. 13, No. 42 (second round), and No. 207 (sixth round) picks in the 2023 NFL Draft, marking an end of 18 years tenure with the franchise.

Jets owner has a heartfelt welcoming note for their new acquisition, Aaron Rodgers

The Jets owner, Woody Johnson posted two photos of Aaron Rodgers on Twitter and captioned the tweet by saying that the four-time MVP will love his time with the team.

Rodgers arrived at the Jets facility draped in franchise gear and aviator sunglasses and was welcomed by Johnson and Robert Saleh as he walked through the doors at Florham Park in New Jersey, Woody later posted the video on Twitter welcoming the 10-time Pro Bowler.

The Jets owner later posted a picture with the future Hall of Famer holding his jersey No. 8.

A-Rod officially bid adieu to the Packers by posting a series of photos on his Instagram account from his tenure with the Packers with a lengthy heartfelt caption, thanking a litany of people including his teammates, fans, coaches, training staff, members of the front office, and many others working behind the scenes.

Acquiring the 39-year-old is a major shakeup for the Jets as they struggled in recent years and are facing a 54-year Super Bowl drought as well as the NFL’s longest active streak without a playoff appearance (12 seasons), hence, Aaron can prove himself to be the lost piece of the puzzle to turn a losing team into a winning one.

The Packers fans are surely going to miss their long-time hero on the field and the Jets fans will eagerly await to see if their new QB can continue his legacy and lead the team to grab the Super Bowl title in his first season after a lengthy Super Bowl drought.
